Astangu Vocational Rehabilitation Centre (AVRC) is a unique center in Estonia that has experience in providing rehabilitation services for people with special needs since 1996. Astangu VRC develops the Estonian rehabilitation area and shares its experience with other service providers.
The main services we provide to our clients are job and capacity assessment, learning opportunities, job opportunities, rehabilitation and support for work placement. The common goal of these services is to prepare clients for working life through the development of work skills and capabilities. Our target group is working age (16-64 years) people with:
• learning difficulties
• mental health conditions, including people with autism
• intellectual disabilities from mild to moderate
• congenital and/or chronic health impairments
• hearing loss or deaf people
• acquired physical disabilities and traumatic brain injury

Astangu's learning opportunities can be divided into 3 - adaptation courses, job training and state vocational training.
The purpose of the adaptation courses is to provide people with special needs with support for adaptation, opportunities to study, work and other activities, including support for acquiring and practicing the skills necessary for independent living, studying and working. All adaptation courses are tailor-made for students with intellectual disabilities.
The purpose of work-study courses and state vocational education are to offer people with special needs the opportunity to acquire work skills in the chosen field. Both the work training courses and vocational training are adapted for the students needs and are carried out in small groups.
In addition to customer service, we are developing the social and educational spheres of Estonia by participating in national and international development projects, talking about several workshops and round tables, organizing trainings and information days for specialists in the field, and offering internships opportunities for future specialists.

We are an associate member of the European Rehabilitation Platform and work in tandem with various vocational rehabilitation centers in Europe. The quality of our center's social services is also recognized by EQUASS Assurance. Currently we have 104 students and 92 employees.
