Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) was founded in 1968, it is a public institution internationally renowned for the quality of its teaching and research. Furthermore, UAM is responsible, within the scope of its competencies, for the public service of higher education through research, teaching, and study. The autonomy as a fundamental sign of its identity. In addition, looking for the develpment of a multidiciplinary and ethically oriented model of education oriented towards the search for solutions to problems related to the environment through the related the promotion of knowledge, values, attitudes, skills and knowledge, values, and behavioral patterns committed to sustainable development. UAM is one of Spain’s leading university with a large experience for the dissemination of knowledge and culture through university extension and lifelong learning. Solidarity is one of the fundamental principles of UAM, to reach this was created the Solidarity Action and Cooperation Office (OASC) in October 2002 with the aim of informing, coordinating activities, promoting educative programmes, and generating knowledge in relation to social issues, as well as open new collaborative channels and social commitment through its volunteering programs in the context of the university and abroad. OASC considers necessary acting against the different exclusion and marginalisation ways and provide attention to social groups with less opportunities OASC has a volunteering and disability areas.
