Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) was founded in 1968, it is a public institution internationally renowned for the quality of its teaching and research. Solidarity is one of the fundamental principles of UAM, to reach this was created the Solidarity Action and Cooperation Office (OASC) in October 2002 with the aim of informing, coordinating activities, promoting educative programmes, and generating knowledge in relation to social issues, as well as open new collaborative channels and social commitment through its volunteering programs in the context of the university and abroad. OASC considers necessary acting against the different exclusion and marginalisation ways and provide attention to social groups with less opportunities OASC has a volunteering and disability areas.
