Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) was founded in 1968, it is a public institution internationally renowned for the quality of its teaching and research. Solidarity is one of the fundamental principles of UAM, to reach this was created the Solidarity Action and Cooperation Office (OASC) in October 2002 with the aim of informing, coordinating activities, promoting educative programmes, and generating knowledge in relation to social issues, as well as open new collaborative channels and social commitment through its volunteering programs in the context of the university and abroad.
