The NGO Centre for Social and Medical Home Assistance "CASMED" was officially registered on the 13th of December 2010. We created the organization with the purpose to materialize the hopes of and support the elderly and disabled people belonging to disadvantaged groups, by running social, health and education projects. CASMED’s mission aims at increasing the quality of life for different categories of beneficiaries by developing working models of social and community care services and building the capacity of the community actors. Every year, thanks to the effective involvement of local NGOs, LPAs, family doctors, social and medical staff and volunteers, more than 1500 beneficiaries are provided with the needed qualitative medical and social assistance. Besides the home care services, CASMED supports the development of the partner organizations by providing them with training on specific topics, advice and coaching, meant to contribute to strengthening of their organizational skills, upgrading of staff professional and managerial capacities. The organization is focused also on developing the capacity of the partner NGOs in discussing and working with the LPAs in order to build / develop a model for public-private partnership, founded by the efforts of the NGO sector and local decision makers. CASMED makes constant efforts to encourage and support youth activism by promoting volunteering, civic spirit and empathy towards those who are less fortunate. Within CASMED Volunteering Department, created in 2014, are implemented activities with social, cultural and educational impact, focused on raising awareness in the community about the difficulties faced by the socially vulnerable categories, increase of social responsibility and facilitating the dialogue between the representatives of different age.
