Opis organizacije

The ARK Youth Centre Society in Radom is independent non – profit NGO active since 2002 which inspires, encourages
and promotes social activity of citizens and organizations that are locally active. Our mission is carried out in domains of
education, non – formal education, charity and cultural activities for children and youths from local environment as well as
activities which prevent from social exclusion. We are engaged in many interesting projects, which are orientated on promotion
of the concept of corporate community involvement. “The Ark” promote good values. We support people, encourage them to
be active and to develop their interests and passion. We also support them in their personal development, organize training
courses, psychological and educational activities, festivals and competitions, which promotes a new style of life without drugs
and violence. We try to raise young generations through work and appropriate service to other people. These activities
constitute an antidote to pathology of social life and demoralization of younger generations.
At the moment “the Ark” employs 22 persons: psychologists, educators, sociologists, cultural animators, an art teacher, a
music teacher and office workers. It is a highly qualified and experienced staff. At the same time, they are young, creative and
open-minded.
We launched a Youth Volunteering Club, where we focused on sensitive, active young people, who wanted to bring help to the
people in need. Currently 32 clubs (in primary, secondary and high schools) form Youth Volunteering Centre, which focused on
1300 active volunteers that worked locally. We also trained them to act professionally as volunteers. We help our volunteers to
develop the skills needed to become a leader and animate the activities in their local environment through workshops, training
courses, camps.
During those years, the ARK Youth Center Society in Radom has been cooperating with foreign youth organizations who run
similar activities. This has in turn led to an effective cooperation and realization of many international youth projects with other
countries like Italy, Malta, Lithuania, Germany, Turkey, Iceland and Spain. For 9 months we hosted here in our Center an Italian
volunteer.
In March 2016 we run The International Volunteer Center, which is a comprehensive training center. The center is fully equipped; it has 27 rooms with bathrooms, 2 conference rooms, parking, a club room and a professional kitchen with a canteen. The building is tailored for disabled people too. Till now we hosted here some volunteers from Italy, Spain, Egipt, Kongo, Ukraine, Albania and Indonesia.
