The Positive Voice is the Hellenic association for People Living with HIV / AIDS.
The Association was founded in 2009 to protect the rights of people with HIV / AIDS, address the spread of HIV / AIDS issue, and reduce its social and economic impact in Greece.
According to its Statute, in order to achieve its goal, the association strives to ensure better prevention and information practices, care services and social care for people living with HIV / AIDS and HIV-vulnerable social groups. At the same time, it is working for the social acceptance, solidarity and support of these groups to deal with violations of their dignity and human rights.
Part of the Positive Voice is the two local Check points in Athens and Thessaloniki.
The Checkpoints are Prevention and Examination Centers which have completed 6 years of contribution to public health in the country. By introducing for the first time in Greece a new philosophy of examining sexually transmitted diseases in a bright and welcoming environment in Athens and Thessaloniki, Non-Clinical Checkpoint structures have carried out over 53,000 HIV and hepatitis B and C examinations so far.
