Základní článek Hnutí Brontosaurus (ZČ HB) Modrý kámen is a part of a Brontosaurus movement, an organisational network with more than 40 years tradition of a voluntary work and non-formal education for youth. Our organisation is an operator of an Ecological centre Švýcárna situated in a beautiful, protected landscape area Moravian Karst (Southern Moravia), which is in the middle of FSC forests, but just a 10-minute drive from Adamov with approximately 10 thousand inhabitants and half an hour far from the city centre of Brno. The ecological centre Švýcárna is a group of renovated historical buildings where educational programmes, self-development events, weekend events, and summer camps take place. There are two conference rooms, a handcraft workshop, and accommodation for 40 guests.
We aim to develop the community and our surroundings by common work, and non-formal education methods. In our activities, we emphasize the idea of voluntarism and helping nature protection and cultural heritage conservation. Our main activities are organising voluntary and self-development events, summer camps, weekend events, one-day events, youth exchanges, etc. Typical participants of our activities are active young people, primary school children, youth and adults interested in self-development and volunteers. We also host ESC volunteers, coordinate volunteering abroad and write educational materials and methodologies. The organisation itself has app. 30 members and many friends attending our regular weekend events and other activities.
