The Ligue de l'enseignement 35 is a legally and economically autonomous association,member of the national Ligue de l'enseignement,which it represents on its territory.Together with all the departmental federations,it constitutes the general confederation of secular works.The Ligue de l'Enseignement 35 is a federation of associations.In Ille-et-Vilaine, it brings together about 200affiliated associations,with a total of 20000 members. The Board of Directors of the federation is made up of volunteer representatives of these affiliated associations and qualified personalities from civil society. The Board is in charge of defining the federation's multi-year political project and monitoring its proper implementation. The Bureau is responsible for its implementation.The professional team, composed of about twenty employees, implements the actions decided by the Board and the Bureau of the federation. One of the principles of intervention implemented by all employees is the involvement of the target public in the definition and implementation of actions, according to the values of popular education.Founded on 24 February 1925, declared on 9September1925,and recognised as a public utility on 4 May 1964, the Ligue de l'enseignement aims to contribute to the progress of education in all its forms, in the service of the secular, democratic and republican ideal. As a popular education movement, it invites women and men to join together to debate and act in order to :enable everyone to understand the society in which he/she lives, to express him/herself and to act as a citizen in order to promote the development of a secular democratic life, concerned with social justice and committed to peace at all political levels, to promote the development of a secular democratic life, concerned with social justice and committed to peace, to develop all collective initiatives that promote the broadest possible development of people through equal access for all to education, training, professional life, culture,education,health and social services, to culture,communication,sport,holidays and leisure,to bring secularism to life,a constitutional principle and universal value that implies the recognition of the equal dignity of every human being, through permanent action to guarantee freedom of conscience, freedom of worship,freedom of thought and to combat inequality and all forms of discrimination,to guarantee freedom of conscience,freedom of worship, freedom of thought and to combat inequality and all forms of discrimination
The Ligue de l'Enseignement participates in the democratic elaboration and implementation of public policies on education, youth, training, cultural and sports action,social action and communication. As a popular education movement, its mission is to be both :

Sending and receiving young European volunteers
Supporting affiliated associations (administrative support,volunteer training,resource centre for associative life)
Supporting affiliated associations in the development of European and international projects
The provision, support and training of around one hundred young people in civic service each year
The organisation of city classes and exhibitions for public schools and colleges
Support for schooling in the department
Training of volunteers and professionals in education and animation
Monitoring of junior associations in the region
Cultural programming in prisons,Organisation of sports activities in school (Usep) and outside (Ufolep),As a popular education movement, The Ligue de l'enseignement promotes and encourages the commitment of young people. The creation and running of schemes such as junior associations or our involvement in civic service are evidence of a desire to give young people a place as actors in society.
