Ondokuz Mayis University (OMU) is a state university. Its main campus is located in Samsun, a city with
an international harbour in the North of Turkey on the coast of the Black Sea. Today, we have around 50,000 students
(including off-campus students), 2563 academic staff and 3862 staff members. The international relations office at the
university and the university (Ondokuz Mayıs University) wants to ensure the active participation of both students and staff
in international programs, creating an international atmosphere on campus and university. Understanding the significance of
mobility and international collaboration, our university actively promotes and facilitates the engagement of university
members in exchange programs and collaborations between universities and local people. Our main goal is to create a
diverse international environment and encourage involvement in various international activities. Align with the institutional
strategy, the university wants to emphasize participating in and coordinating European projects, and aiming to engage in
actions under programs like Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps. The university, viewing youth as the most important,
focuses on policies and activities for both students and local youth, sharing the objectives of the European Solidarity Corps
to enhance engagement and contribute to societal challenges. The target groups for Erasmus+ activities include our
university’s students and staff.
