On May 3, 1978, by public deed, ADEP - Associação Desportiva Penamacorense was officially founded. This Association originated in the former, "Cultural, Sports and Recreation Association of Penamacor", which came out of the unification of two other collectivities in the village of Penamacor that have lasted for several decades: The «Penamacor Sports Club» and the "Theater Club of Penamacor».
ADEP is the partner nº1442 of the Football Association of Castelo Branco, having participated in an official competition for the first time in its history, in the District Youth Championship of the season of 1978/1979.
Our main goal is not to manufacture footballers, but to form young people for life, taking advantage of the will that all young people, in a natural way has to play football ... then comes the hard work of imposing group work rules and try to work the various competences, to practice recreational, competitive and competitive football.
The quality of the work that we have been developing ends up having weight in the decision of the parents to choose our club to the detriment of others, and then in a natural way they begin to appear the sports results in the levels of pre-competition and competition, but reinforcement, all this has only been possible with a lot of competence, work and dedication to the club of many people, .. I emphasize the technical teams of all echelons, that has been doing a remarkable work. Without them hardly the results would be these!.
For exmple, it is with great pleasure that we host several groups of young athletes, that have chosen Penamacor as a destination for a particular moment of their summer vacation, combining the practice of Sports with the leisure and adventure component that municipal equipment and the natural spaces of our region provides. Housed in the premises, young people from different parts of Portugal (Lisboa) and Spain (Madrid and Salamanca) have been sharing since 2013 this National reference summer camps dedicated mainly to football.
However the main objective of ADEP is and has been going for more than a decade, the promotion and development of Youth Football, with the pursuit of a policy of training and support for the education of young people in the municipality of Penamacor, of the energy and motivation of these young people for their evolution as practitioners and as Men and, at the same time, stimulating them the pleasure in representing their home town and our county. Although in the past ADEP has had some Youth Football teams in some sporting seasons, it has been since the 2005/2006 season, when a School of Initiation to Football - the ADEP Football School was created. They compete with regularly on almost every level of the district official Football competitions.
