EuroClio – European Association of History Educators is a network of professionals who believe history and citizenship education should strengthen democracy and promote human rights and the rule of law. We strive to make quality history and citizenship education equally accessible to all learners regardless of gender, ethnicity, and background through capacity-building for educators and producing and implementing innovative teaching tools. We take an active stance against the misuse of history and education for ideology and political gain, working towards a world without hate, racism, discrimination, or violence in any of its forms. EuroClio is working to achieve its mission through a variety of means. We organise events such as an annual conference, seminars, and workshops in over two dozen countries, contributing to the professional development of around two thousand people each year. Currently, EuroClio connects more than 80 history and citizenship education institutions —teachers’ associations, museums, cultural heritage institutes, and more—who together represent about 30.000 professionals from over 50 countries in Europe and beyond. We involve annually over 350 professional volunteers participate in our projects and activities, including as advisors, co-authors, lecturers, researchers, reviewers, and facilitators. Our target groups include teachers, teacher educators, researchers, policy makers, textbook authors, cultural heritage institutes, youth and citizens.
