Kindergarten No. 47 "Leśny Ludek" is an intimate public institution, which is located in Wrocław in a detached, two-storey villa building, situated in Sępolno, in the vicinity of Szczytnicki Park. Its advantage is a large, green, well-kept garden with a colourful playground for children and plenty of trees, which surround the nursery garden. The kindergarten has 3 departments for children aged 3-6. The total number of places is 59. Each group has its own name: "Jeżyki", "Biedronki" and "Liski". We provide children with care, upbringing and education. We make sure that there is always a nice, family and friendly atmosphere in our kindergarten. Our kindergarten is environmentally friendly. We do our best to ensure that our pupils often commune with nature. We use our kindergarten garden to actively spend time in direct contact with nature, we organize family picnics outdoors. The activities we plan are continuous and reflect interests and values. What is particularly important in our work is:
- the creativity of the child and the teacher,
- the children's joy in creating and experiencing,
-play (consensual, safe, engaging).
The main priorities of our work are: health promotion, environmental education, intellectual, cultural and social development. We run our own kitchen, where we prepare tasty, healthy, home-made meals. Our qualified teaching staff is constantly improving and expanding their knowledge. They are open and willing to cooperate with volunteers.
The main assumptions which are implemented in our kindergarten and concern daily care, education and upbringing are
- promoting the idea of solidarity, tolerance and acceptance through participation in such projects and programmes as: "Preschooler's Day", "Kindness Day", "World Smile Day", engaging in charity actions such as: "Penny mountain", "Collection of books".
- Shaping pro-ecological values - we cooperate with the League for Nature Protection and National Forests, we realize our own program of nature and ecological education "Ecoemotions".
- promoting a healthy lifestyle - we run autumn and spring sports competitions, cyclical health-oriented classes "Tooth decay prevention programme", cooking workshops, sports classes "Mali Wspaniali" (Little Magnificents), general development gymnastics classes with elements of corrective gymnastics
- cultural and social development - Europeanism. We conduct activities related to regional education, we arouse interest in the European Union countries and the whole world in our children, we conduct German language classes for children, we participate in the action "All Wrocław Reads to Kids". The kindergarten employs 21 staff members who are fluent in English. In our kindergarten we run various additional activities, e.g. German, dance, theatre, sports and nature activities.
