The Croce Rossa Italiana - Comitato di Marotta Mondolfo is part of the International Red Cross Movement, whose main aim is to alleviate the suffering of those in crisis, regardless of the ground of their discomfort. At national level, Croce Rossa Italiana involves almost 140.000 active members, operating through a network of local Committees that can better address the needs emerging from each and every community.
The Committee of Marotta Mondolfo was founded in 1987. It is supported by around 200 volunteers active in the fields of social assistance, medical support, emergency response, first aid and training. The services implemented within each operative area, address the most vulnerable members of the local community, in particular the elderly, people at risk of exclusion, children and people with diseases. These services are integrated with training activities and with activities of fundraising, awareness and sensibilisation campaigns and initiatives which can allow the hosted volunteers to gain a 360° learning experience in both operational and planning tasks. The youth group of the Red Cross of Marotta Mondolfo involves 30 youngsters who take care of the organisation of activities and events mainly addressed to young people.
Since 2009, we also have a sport and medical centre called “NAIADI”, where we offer different kinds of physiotherapy: the Centre has a swimming pool and medical clinics and it’s open for everyone. Recently we have started a cooperation with an association in Fano who takes care of children with disabilities: they use our centre and swimming pool twice a week for motor activities and physiotherapy.
