Kalajoki Municipality is located in the North of Finland on the west coast. The municipality is also the location of Finland's largest summer tourist Resort. The municipality is a public body who's roles are to organize Education and Health care and other public services for the population of the municipality.

The education network is a particular target for this accreditation with all of the schools from elementary to Upper secondary and vocational being active in internationalization.
The municipality also has an advanced Sports department and the Youth Services of the municipality are also highly developed and looking to advance their International Development.

Kalajoki Is in close proximity to the building site for Finland's latest nuclear reactor and as such there are forecasts indicating an increase in international activities in the region. We are eager to develop Services related to this huge development and in doing so provide a better support network for our education Youth and Sport departments.

Kalajoki municipality is eager to develop and to provide its community with services that promote a more inclusive society, supporting vulnerable people and responding to societal challenges. We wish to to enhance solidarity between people, while respecting their cultures and their traditions, and aim to build a community of shared responsibilities and mutual support;

In relation to this accreditation our main target groups relate to general education, Sports, Early Child education, culture and youth services.These five departments also represent the primary areas in which we would like to develop and provide the main platforms for our volunteers to take part in.
