A szervezet leírása

Associação Fazer Avançar (AFA) is a non-profit association that educates, trains and mobilizes young people to be agents of social change. At the moment, AFA isparticularly focused in implementing refugees and migrants integration projects, by using SPEAK technology and methodology. SPEAK is a program that promotes the social inclusion of migrants and refugees by connecting them with locals living in the same city, through a language and culture exchange where everyone can apply to share their language and learn a new one.
SPEAK implements groups of language and culture exchange where participants can learn and explore common interests. During the 12 weeks of the program,
participants make friends and break not only the language barrier but also prejudices, misunderstandings, thus promoting comprehension as well as cooperation.Participants help solve each others’ problems, such as finding a guarantor to lease an apartment, help access the national health system or make a resumé. In this way, SPEAK contributes to more inclusive societies where diversity is cheered and valued.

Important information: Associação Fazer Avançar- SPEAK has two headquarters: one in Leiria and other in Lisbon. At the moment the international volunteering activities will be based in Lisbon's headquarters having as supporting organisation Spin Association. For possible visits during the process of attribution of the Quality Label it would be better to consider the address and contacts of Lisbon's headquarters as the main location.
