TGM school is a public primary and partly secondary school for pupils aged 6-15, based just few minutes from Nachod city centre. School is focused besides the general subjects on sport and language activities. There is about 300 children and 25 teachers. The school is divided into two buildings with two indoor gyms and one outdoor gym. It is situated 10 minute walk from the swimming pool and the winter stadium.There is very friendly and peaceful atmosphere with teachers who work very closely and individually with children and parents. We offer a lot of after school activities such as climbing, judo, floorball, English, handicraft and many others. We organise various competitions and take part in many events held during the year such as project days, Christmas and Easter exhibitions and international cooperation (Poland, Slovakia). Our school has been modernized for last 3 years and is getting new equipment. We do our best to educate children well, individually approach to each of them and be good examples for their future.
Very specific for our school is work with foreigners - children of migrants who moved here with whole families because of work. Right now we have in our school children of at least 5 different nationalities - Ukrainians, Mongolians, Vietnamese, Bulgarians, Poles, and also big representation of Roma minority. We have experience in working with children who do not have knowledge of Czech and also are coming from totally different cultural background. We are ready to support those families in integration to local community, that is why we carry out course of Czech language for foreigners (for pupils and for parents). It is important to mention that teachers of our school have good knowledge of languages, among our team we can find people speaking not only English, German and Russian but also Italian, Lithuanian and Polish.
We also work in many projects and provide a lot of after-school non-formal activities to get our students involved and to give them chance to develop their potential, not only in school subjects but also in other fields, like dance, music, sport.

To the volunteer we will offer participation in all of our activities, especially in all projects and after-school activities. The volunteer will have chance to cooperate with us on different projects, like "Global village" - presentation of countries and cultures from whole world, ecological projects, language projects, trips etc. Except this they will be involved in chosen lessons, like language lessons, sports and art. Furthermore they will take part in regular activities of after-school club where they can offer to children activities based on their own ideas.

We are cooperating with SVC Decko - leisure time centre in our town. They have been part of EVS/ESC since 2006. Recently they coordinate around 15 volunteers each year who are involved in 6 different organizations in Náchod and other towns in our region. They are supporting us in realization of ESC project in our school. Thanks to it our volunteers will become part of group of other European volunteers living and working here. It will bring to the project extra benefits, like getting to know and learning to cooperate with other young people from all over the Europe.
