York CVS is a charity, we have a governing body of Trustees who are responsible for the overall management of York CVS and for deciding the strategic direction and business planning.

York CVS is a social action organisation and our funded projects include;

* Ways to Well Being - a social prescribing service designed to reduce use of GP appointments for social issues, helping people stay safe and well at home for longer.
* Healthwatch - is a way for people to influence local health and social care services – hospitals, care homes, GP surgeries, home care services and many others. We can help families get the best out of local health and social care services, shaping these services according to what the community wants or needs.
* Time to Change - the Hub in York is part of the national Time to Change campaign and locally a social action organisation, funded by the City of York Council. We are a social movement aiming to change the way people think and act about mental health in York. We are all about challenging stigma, and negative attitudes and behaviours towards mental health, through people sharing their lived experience.
* Growing Green Spaces - an initiative designed to beautify, enhance, and sustain York's green spaces by growing and supporting green volunteering across the city. Our small grants fund is open to innovative project ideas from voluntary and community groups.
* Dementia Action Alliance - encourages individuals, services, businesses and organisations in York to work towards being dementia friendly and accessible to all. We also work with local dementia charities and organisations to listen to the views of people living with dementia and carers to inform change within the city.
* Safe Places - operates around the UK. Safe Places are located in buildings in York, like libraries, cafes, shops and museums that are open to the public and accessible. They have agreed to provide a safe and supportive space if someone who is vulnerable needs to ask for help while out and about.
* Payroll - a tailored payroll service for small charities in York.
* Nursery - for children 0 - 5 years in a self-contained unit within our building. Our setting is for sibling groups, allowing brothers and sisters of different ages to share the same space.
