The Institute for Training, Employment and Mobility (IFOM) is a vocational education and training centre that focuses especially on innovative practices such as work-based learning and vocational training placement.
IFOM aims to foster the employability perspective, focusing especially on those that have less chance to find a job. IFOM use training and mobility has tools to foster employability and reduce the skill gap between education and labour market.
IFOM is active both at regional and at international level where it cooperates with like-minded organizations to foster youth employability and to improve the quality of education and training through developing innovative learning paths and methods and through implementing learning mobility schemes.
IFOM focuses on establishing apprenticeships and traineeships schemes focusing especially on young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) and vocational students.
IFOM cooperate with several vocational and general education schools, especially the IIS AldiniValeriani Sirani (one of the biggest and most relevant in Italy), the IIS Belluzzi Fioravanti, the IIS Ettore Majorana, the IstitutoComprensivo 16.
IFOM designs and organises in-service training courses and structure training events for teachers and trainers in order to support the educational staff to improve their competences and the quality of education provided by acquiring transversal skills and specific knowledge on innovative teaching methods and practices.
IFOM runs entrepreneurship education projects with specific focus on social entrepreneurship.IFOM is a cooperative and it’s associated to LegaCoop (National Cooperatives and Mutual societies Union) that is the biggest and oldest Cooperatives’ union. IFOM has thus direct access and cooperates with some among the biggest cooperatives in Italy.
IFOM builds on the extensive of its staff in the field of youth policies, transnational projects and learning mobility schemes.
Thus IFOM build on the knowledge and experience developed in managing and participating in dozens of European funded projects thus know what it takes to work in a transnational partnership and can support the applicant in the management and monitoring of this application.
IFOM holds relevant experience in the field of youth activities especially in the framework of enabling young people to participate in learning mobility projects and supporting youth workers and trainers to improve their competences, integrate in their training methods innovative practices and improve the level of education provided to young people.
IFOM staff has developed several e-learning modules especially through the platform Moodle.
