The KUFA -
As the largest socio-cultural centre in Hildesheim, the Kulturfabrik Löseke (KUFA for short) has been active since 1992 and is thus one of the oldest in Germany. KUFA unites a colourful programme with events of different kinds: concerts of national and international artists*, theatre, (further) education, dance and creative workshops, cooking groups as well as large and small socio-cultural projects. And of course the weekends belong to the party fraction: Then KUFA becomes a rustic club in industrial style and there is partying and dancing. Every year, KUFA counts about 700 events with a total of over 60,000 visitors*. KUFA often acts as organizer, but also lives from the manifold cooperations with different user groups in and around Hildesheim. In everything that KUFA is, does and (re-)presents, its three maxims apply: enabling, charming and non-conformist.
In its in-house events as well as in projects in public space, KUFA brings together people with different cultural and social backgrounds. The claim of the KUFA team is none other than to make culture accessible and experienceable for everyone. The house is designed as a place of production and communication, as a cultural workshop and event center, and through this we help to shape the cultural offerings of the city. Because we are convinced: Communication promotes tolerance, participation promotes awareness, activation promotes responsible action. As an employer, the KUFA wants to strengthen social work, offer real opportunities to disadvantaged people and make the start of work low-threshold as well as practical experience, teamwork and meaningful activities possible - also in study and school internships.
KUFA makes its technology and infrastructure as well as personnel and know-how available for private or external events, thus proving once again that KUFA is there for everyone. Of course, this also applies to the rooms in the old paper factory. Whether birthday party, high school graduation party, yoga class or concert: KUFA has the right room. Loretta, Buffo, hall and seminar room are currently available for rent. Furthermore, rehearsal rooms and studio places are available on request. In the kitchen, the so-called "open area", the SoKü (Soli kitchen) cooks on Wednesdays. In the production series ecco! as well as transponder, students are on stage with their own artistic ideas. The regular events initiated and implemented by cooperation partners* also include, for example, Club VEB in the concert area, the yoga course regrow and the DNB Step Academy. Furthermore, in the area of parties, Hilde tanzt!, Booty Shakin, Disk.o., Binär and Black Friday are just a few of the events that take place.
The KUFA is an open house and stands for tolerance and diversity. Sure, we all have different opinions on one or the other topic. But on the one hand, we think, one can talk about it in a civilized way, on the other hand everything has its limits. So also the KUFA. Racism, homophobia and other forms of discrimination are not tolerated here. That means: No insulting of mothers, sisters, women in general, of trans people, gay people, people of colour, various religions and whatever else you can't think of when you want to discriminate against a supposed fringe group. Live and let live. Everybody here is different somehow - and yet we are all only human. The security as well as our whole KUFA-Team are urgently dependent on the compliance with the non-discrimination premise.
