Through its member NGO’s, ENGO-MVI includes thousands of individuals around the globe, that represent a diverse group of people active within European projects, in the Youth sector with Non-Formal Education, Social Entrepreneurship, Sport and Cultural activities.
MISSION
As non-profit “association of associations” ENGO-MVI intends to carry out social involvement and community building activities for its members and stakeholding (third) parties encouraging participation, freedom, and dignity of its members.MVI takes a full role in the public debate on civil society engagement in its topics of interest and strives to influence policies in these areas.
SERVICES
MVI concentrates on three key areas: project activities, education and policy-making/advocacy efforts. Apart from promoting events and educational programmes - to fulfil above mentioned ‘umbrella-account’, societal engagement and projects implementation.ENGO-MVI is experienced in establishing thematic consortia, promoting new partnerships, developing/implementing European projects and organising high-profile conferences, seminars and hearings.
MVI's operational headquarters is in Sassari (Via Capo d'Oro 12), in the Historic Centre of the town, an area plagued by socio-economic issues, a difficult condition of the local youth and problematic management of the increasing ethnic/cultural diversity brought about by migration/refugee flows as well as by the growth of a second-generation migrant/refugee component. In addition, the poverty level of the population that lives in this part of the city is quite high. In fact, the historical centre is mainly inhabited by people with immigrant backgrounds and local people often without jobs and with a low educational level.
In this context, MVI plays an important and active role in the community on a social level offering support to young people through information and assistance in accessing existing opportunities. In addition, it organizes open events to bring the local community and stakeholders closer to the European dimension. With the aim of spreading European values and developing cultural activities aimed at fostering exchange and mutual understanding between different identities (migrant and local).
Through its work in the area, MVI has established collaboration with several local schools. Throughout the school year, MVI trainers consistently implement Non-Formal Education workshops to promote civic education among students.
TARGET GROUP
Besides its international geographic scope, at local level MVI performs several workshops mainly targeted at young adults migrants and refugees, women, NEETs and young people who are facing social exclusion due to different reasons such as economic, geographical, social and cultural obstacles. In order to improve people’s quality of life, MV International performs social campaigns and international projects trying to better involve the previously listed target group in society. MVI organises events, seminars and activities involving migrants and local people aiming at combating racism, hate speech and to include and integrate migrants into the society, using Non-Formal Education as the main tool. A lot of young people, addressed by other organisations, came to MV International to volunteer, train, learn project designing, and help in the implementation of projects.
