Beskrivning av organisationen

The Fédération Régionale des Maisons des Jeunes et de la Culture (MJC) Occitanie Pyrénées animates the network of MJCs in the territory. It accompanies 103 associations sharing the values and objectives of the "declaration of principles of the CMJCF" in the deployment of their MJC project.
Its missions are articulated around three logics of support to the MJC:
1. To ensure an advocacy function, based on the political and strategic reflection of the network, in order to carry and promote the MJC project in the public space, with partners, and thus, to contribute to the development of ambitious territorial policies in terms of Youth and Popular Education;
2. 2. To animate spaces of prospective reflection and innovation, in articulation with the capitalization of the experience of the members, creating the conditions of an improvement of the practices, the experimentation, the development and the renewal of the actions, in order to better answer the present and future needs of the populations and the territories;
3. To support and accompany the network's actors, both activists and professionals, in the operational management of their projects and actions in their territories, by strengthening their skills and expertise, particularly through training, by making available the network's project engineering and tools, by accompanying the implementation of MJC actions and by piloting collective projects, events and happenings.
The MJC project
Each MJC project is part of a network of local associative, institutional and political actors. It develops within a network of solidarity and cooperation made up of MJCs at the local, regional and national levels. Depending on its history, the local context and the volunteers and employees who are involved, the project has been adapted and adapted in different ways without ever losing its foundations and principles of action.
A Youth and Culture Center project is born from the collective mobilization of inhabitants in order to create a territorial social and cultural dynamic, emancipating for the individuals. This dynamic is part of a global political project to build a society of equity and cooperation for all, and particularly for young people.
In order to do this, the Youth and Culture House creates and animates spaces for meeting, commitment, experimentation and socio-cultural innovation. All this is based on an unconditional welcome of the inhabitants, co-creation of citizen projects, expression of all and creative practices.
The pedagogical approach that defines it is part of a popular education approach that aims to strengthen the power of action of people by relying on interactions and exchanges between the members of a group. It thus values the singularity and the expertise of use of each one and creates the conditions of emergence of a production, a reflection or a creative and aesthetic research.
This is why culture, in its anthropological (living together) and political (citizenship) dimensions, is at the heart of its project, taking on multiple forms. We find in particular the learning of artistic and cultural practices, the making of inherent objects, the diffusion and the cultural mediation, the creation of events and demonstrations, the journey and the cultural mobility. We can also mention the gathering of amateurs, by affinity groups, around common interests and passions, the debate of social issues, cultural engineering for the benefit of other associative and political actors in the territory.
Mobilizing MJCs around social issues
The federal project adopted in 2016 by all the MJCs and the regional and departmental federations highlighted the social and cultural issues on which the MJCs wanted to act locally but also within wider territories. Various themes are thus invested by professionals and volunteers of the regional network to question themselves, share experiences, create and pool tools or set up events. Our regional team coordinates and animates the different meetings. The approach consists in setting up a learning organization through the sharing of questions on issues, the collective writing of a roadmap and the implementation of actions in a collaborative way.
