Beskrivelse af organisationen

The Maison des Jeunes et de la Culture de Croix Daurade is an association established in the heart of the district since 1965. Affiliated with the regional and departmental federation of MJCs, it is part of a network, including 7 MJC from Toulouse.
It is managed by a Board of Directors made up of MJC members who attend various activities. In short, it is the people who benefit from the action of the association who reflect and work on its orientations.
The MJC of Croix-Daurade adheres to the Departmental and Regional Federations of the MJCs but also to the Confederation of the MJCs of France. The MJC Croix Daurade is one of the 650 French MJCs. At the regional level, it is part of a network led by the Regional Federation of MJCs of Occitania which includes 186 MJCs.

The MJC project is divided into several fields of activity: local and cultural animation, activity clubs (artistic and cultural workshops), the childhood and youth center.

Activity clubs (practice workshops):
Open to everyone, they are supervised by technical facilitators, speakers or volunteers who have the required training or experience. We conceive of activities as places of sharing and exchange; practice is only a medium allowing everyone to express themselves and flourish in contact with others but also to develop know-how and skills related to an artistic, cultural or sporting field. The workshops are the most important area of the MJC de Croix Daurade, both in terms of the number of people who benefit from them and their financial structure.

Local and Cultural Animation:
The involvement of the MJC in local life and its investment in boosting the cultural life of the neighborhood are two fundamental elements of the association's project. Established for more than 50 years in the district of Croix-Daurade, the MJC wants to be open to all and undeniably linked to its territory.
Thus, the association operates on several axes:
• Events dedicated to boosting the social life of the neighborhood, through mixing, meeting and exchange between people.
• Actions implemented to revitalize the cultural life of the neighborhood:
o Through specific projects, depending on the orientations decided by the Board of Directors, opportunities and possible partnerships
o Through the performance spaces offered by the MJC for the promotion of artistic productions from the various workshops of the association.

the childhood center:
The MJC Croix Daurade organizes an educational center for children aged 6 to 10 on Wednesdays and during school holidays. This welcoming is part of the Toulouse Leisure Center Quality Charter, orchestrated by the Toulouse City Hall, for municipal and associative leisure centers. This welcoming is also governed by its own regulations which are those issued by the Ministry of National Education. For each period , the animation team designs a program of activities that meet the educational objectives and the requests of children and families, as far as possible. Themes are explored and serve as a common thread for the activities and outings offered.
The Passerelle: The Passerelle is an educational center for children between 10 and 12 years old. Like the childhood center, this welcoming is part of the Toulouse childhood Center Quality Charter.

Youth Action 12-17 years old:
It is a place of meeting and discussion, a physical welcome for young people aged 12 to 17, it is a place open to all as long as young people accept and respect the internal regulations and the rules of life.
From this place emerge ideas that can be translated into projects. It is also during these times that the animation team promotes the involvement of young people in the associative life of the MJC and the events it organizes.
• During school periods (excluding holidays): Action Jeunes is open on Wednesdays from 1.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. Fostering meeting and dialogue, it is a place where young people can relax. The space is meant to be convivial and is developed over time.
• During the school holidays, various actions are set up at the MJC as well as outside: youth work camps, stays, free time, artistic creation courses, various activities. Reception hours vary depending on the actions implemented.
• Beyond these so-called “formal” reception times: the animation team can open other spaces for discussion, listening and reception so that young people do not consider Youth Action only. as a youth center open over defined times but as a gateway to the MJC that can meet multiple expectations. The link between the animation team and young people is therefore maintained outside the opening times of Wednesdays, Saturdays and holidays.
