Madre Coraje is a Spanish non-profit association, based on volunteering, participation and recycling. Our mission or main goal is to cooperate in the development of impoverished communities through humanitarian aid, sustainable development projects and education and awareness on global issues.

Here are other goals we pursue:
-. The promotion of social volunteering as a form of integral development of people and a way to achieve the purposes and works of cooperation for development and service to society, in the territorial scope of action of the Association.
-. To implement a culture of recycling in our society through awareness campaigns and collection of products so that they can either be sent to our beneficiaries, or treated for reuse, thus obtaining funds.
-. Working to promote the social and labor integration of the most disadvantaged groups in our society through educational, labor and, where appropriate, therapeutic programs as a means to improve the society in which we live and achieve the objective of our aid. The development of these programs must be integrated into the activities of the Association.

Carrying out training programmes and activities aimed at different social groups, such as teachers, pupils, the media, mothers and fathers, members of social groups and any others which may be determined, with the aim of transmitting to our society the principles of Madre Coraje and the values of solidarity which we defend to achieve a fairer world.
-. To promote and to establish relationships or collaboration agreements with other existing associations in Spain or abroad whose purposes coincide with those mentioned here


The Humanitarian Aid Department’s goal is to improve the living conditions of groups at risk of exclusion by sending humanitarian aid offering health, educational and emergency support. We also act to prevent emergency situations caused by adverse weather events in Andean and Mozambican communities through projects that help alleviate their effects.

From our Development Projects Department, we work on medium and long-term projects in very impoverished places, influencing all areas of community development: economy, education, governance and citizenship, while ensuring gender equality, cultural identity, organizational strengthening and environmental care. We promote sustainable human development, the empowerment and strengthening of local capacities, in which the protagonists are at all times the men and women participating in the execution of the projects.

From our Global Citizenship Education Department, we are committed to a transformative change that helps to end the unjust structures of society. We work not only with schools, high-schools and universities, but with other civil society organizations, promoting in them values of solidarity, responsibility, equality and justice to build an active global citizenship
