The Youth center Oton was founded in 2019 and is located in Novo Mesto. It was established with the aim of realizing the strategy of the Novo Mesto Municipality 2015-2030 and strategy for youth of Novo mesto 2021-2030, while relying on the European Youth Strategy 2019-2027, the resolution on the National Program for Youth 2013-2022 and the Act on Public Interest in the Youth Sector. MC Oton focuses on young people between the ages of 15 and 29 without racial, religious, ethnic or social preferences. Oton is a provider of youth programs as well as a platform, a supportive environment for other youth organizations and organizations for young people in the Municipality of Novo mesto. Our target group is also children who attend our workshops and holiday activities. The main activities carried out in MC Oton are in the field of community development: a day center where young people can spend quality free time, programs to strengthen the competences of young people, preventive workshops and workshops for the welfare of young people, promotion of active citizenship. In the area of ​​overcoming the intercultural, intergenerational and social gap, we are developing: support for employment in the public sector and non-governmental organizations with mentoring, support for family education programs for cultural engagement and a network of youth points and a mobile unit. In the field of creativity, art and culture, we prepare cultural events for young people, and themed workshops.
