(Sub)culture meets industry - The Kulturinsel Stuttgart is a multicultural meeting and event space for people of all ages, cultures, and social backgrounds, located on the old customs office area in Stuttgart/Bad Cannstatt (former freight yard). Since 2012, approximately 3,000 square meters of space have been dedicated to the development of creative ideas and projects that connect various social strata in an open and accessible manner.

At the beginning, the vacant lot next to Club Zollamt was meant to be beautified and demonstrate the potential hidden in empty spaces and unused areas. Today, the Kulturinsel is a place of encounter where neighbors, artists, organizers, initiatives, people with refugee backgrounds, volunteers, individuals from politics and public life, as well as businesses come together on our premises for various occasions, creating an intercultural oasis with a social and societal focus. Our freiRaum are also regularly booked by clients from the industry, politics, and (high) culture.

The centerpiece of our project proposal is our urban community and learning garden called "Inselgrün". It is an unusual learning and neighborhood garden that invites people to linger, meet, and explore. Since 2012, a variety of gardening activities have taken place here. The garden is open 24/7, seven days a week, and welcomes everyone to participate and get actively involved.
