Our association is a non-profit organization with 45 years of experience in caring for children who cannot grow up in their families. We currently care for 120 children and adolescents. We do this in various forms of care: family-like in professional foster families and family-like residential groups, in two trauma-pedagogical children's residential groups and in two residential groups of youth welfare for boys.

Our work is based on a trauma pedagogical approach: biographically stressed children and adolescents need new experiences of stable, continuous and alternative relationship experiences. Our fundamental goal is emotional and social stabilization to enable development.

Our residential group in Rüden is a youth support service for eight boys (12 - 18 years old) who have experienced violence and neglect. Young refugees who come to Germany without their families are also welcome. The boys' residential group in Rüden is a full-time offer, 365 days a year. Every boy is welcome, just as he is, with his individual difficulties and problems, his talents and resources. We do not accept violence in the group and we protect the boys from violence and assault. Care is provided by a dedicated team of educators who work in shifts. A housekeeper supports the boys and the team. The team meets once a week to discuss the boys' development. There is a team leader and an assistant educator, and all team members are supervised. The team is mixed in age and gender.
