Riešė Gymnasium is a cooperative and constantly learning high school of an active community, which creates a positive social-emotional environment and strives to ensure the opportunity for every student to achieve the best educational results according to his/her capabilities and needs. Nursery-school, pre-school, primary, basic and secondary education programs as well as non-formal education program are carried out at Riešė Gymnasium. There are 1,674 students studying in the gymnasium. Recognising the need for STEAM sciences, we are strengthening STEAM science education by teaching science and technology through problem-based and inquiry-based education, enabling students to connect theory to practice, to work collaboratively, and to foster problem-based thinking and creativity. Another equally important area of activity is teaching foreign languages. In the gymnasium, students learn English, German, French, Spanish and Japanese.
Riešė Gymnasium is located in Riešė, a suburb of Vilnius, and is home to an active and vibrant Riešė community. A lot of the students’ parents work in Vilnius, so it is very important to organise their children’s after-school activities in the gymnasium. More than 45 non-formal education clubs are available at Riešė Gymnasium. The aim of non-formal education is to reveal and develop students’ talents and creative abilities, to involve students in the life of both the school and the community of Riešė, and to develop civic competence.
