Al Selam Foundation, a non-profit social enterprise, was established in İstanbul, Turkey. It is a social enterprise that works for developing educational facilities for African children and women and brings awareness to non-African people about what they can learn from Africa. Al Selam's contribution to projects in Zanzibar to achieve these goals are:
1. Assalam International School: 94 students are registered in Assalam International School, which provides two meals daily, stationery, and school clothes.
2. Children's University: During weekends, we give classes to 46 students about sports, art, science, computer, languages, and drama for students in neighboring villages who are older for Assalam International School.
3. Vocational training for single moms and young ladies: We provided vocational training to single moms and young ladies and they are working for the KangaAfrica brand. 40 single moms and 19 young ladies were able to learn sewing and provide income for themselves after the training under Assalam’s social enterprise brand “KangaAfrica,”
4. Hosting volunteers worldwide: We hosted more than 700 volunteers from around the world who volunteered for our projects.
5. Permaculture area: We have an excellent Permaculture area that aims to support the community to be self-sufficient, sustainable, and respectful towards nature.
6. Vocational Training & Youth Center:
6a. Worldwide, especially in Africa, youth camps on permaculture, survivor, and biology
6b. Education in 6
