Beskrivelse af organisationen

Our institution is a non-profit state organization that actively serves for the benefit of humanity before, during, and after disaster and emergency events in Mersin. It is responsible for identifying disaster and emergency hazards and risks within the province, preparing, creating, and implementing risk reduction, response, and recovery plans, and managing the Provincial Disaster and Emergency Management Center during disasters.

Additionally, our institution is responsible for conducting or organizing educational activities on disasters and emergencies for all age groups within the province. As is well known, volunteer employment holds great importance during disaster and emergency periods when resources are limited. At this point, our institution carries out training, assignments, coordination, and accreditation processes related to disaster and emergency management for NGOs and volunteers, whether online or face-to-face.

There are a total of 23,970 registered AFAD volunteers across the province, with 13,088 of them aged between 18 and 30. Our personnel have actively collaborated with volunteers and NGOs during processes such as disasters, migration, and pandemics. We operate as an institution with an experienced team and volunteer network that has been involved in every stage of disaster and emergency processes, including shelter, recovery, essential services, and psychosocial support, effectively managing support needs.
