Vitré Communauté's Service Info Jeunes welcomes young people aged 11 to 30, free of charge with or without an appointment. Vitré Communauté covers 46 communes.The team of 6 youth workers is spread over 4 drop-in centres: Châteaubourg, Vitré, Argentré du Plessis and la Guerche de Bretagne.The role of the SIJ is to welcome and support young people on a range of issues (building your career; working; getting involved; travelling; getting around; finding accommodation; accessing your rights; looking after yourself; having fun; learning about information). The SIJs are first and foremost resource centres, with clear, verified documentation for young people.The second mission is to organise events such as forums (going abroad, summer jobs, baby-sitting dating) or actions (first aid passes, youth service cooperatives, European volunteer work camps, etc.). Finally, the 3rd mission is to offer activities in schools (middle schools, high schools, post-baccalaureate, etc.) using edutainment tools to help young people speak out and have time to discuss and debate different issues.The Label Info Jeunes is a national label. The SIJ at Vitré Communauté is part of a network that is run at regional level by CRIJ Bretagne (Centre Régional d'Information Jeunesse), which offers training courses and regular departmental and regional meetings. Whether at national or regional level, these documentation centres provide reliable and verified documentation to youth informers in local areas.
