Organizācijas apraksts:
ZAM – "Zentrum für Austausch und Machen" or Center for Sharing and Making is a community-driven makerspace, social hub, and arts & crafts center located in Erlangen, Germany. As a non-profit organization, we aim to bring together people across disciplines – from science and technology to art, design, and traditional crafts – and diverse backgrounds. At the heart of ZAM lies the idea of learning by doing and learning from each other. We foster an open culture of knowledge exchange, communal support and volunteering where teaching, experimentation, and collaboration naturally lead to creativity, empowerment, and social connection. ZAM operates seven open workshop areas in its central yet spacious facilities: woodworking, metalworking, prototyping (including 3D printing, laser cutting, and electronics), textiles, printing (both digital and traditional), a color and painting studio, and a tinkering space with a bio lab. In addition, ZAM regularly hosts exhibitions, workshops, cultural events, and collaborative projects that bridge the gap between technology and craftsmanship, while nurturing community life. Our members and guests include makers, artists, engineers, students, craftspeople, hackers, and curious citizens of all ages. Together, they form an active and inclusive community – committed to sharing skills, tools, and ideas – strengthening both local engagement and international exchange.
