Profile and Objectives The "Moonlight" ODV Association (Canicattì, AG) is a non-profit organization dedicated to social solidarity and the fight against poverty. Our primary mission is the recovery of surplus food from the agri-food supply chain and large-scale retail trade for free redistribution to poor and marginalized people. We aim to protect human dignity and promote the circular economy, reducing waste and raising awareness of the right to food in the local community. Motivation We are applying for the Quality Mark to internationalize our work and promote active citizenship among young people. We want to offer ESC volunteers practical experience of solidarity, fostering intercultural exchange in a local context that needs new energy to combat social exclusion. Experience and Support Thanks to our agreement with the Sicilian Food Bank, we have solid expertise in solidarity logistics and compliance with health and hygiene regulations. We have a suitable operational headquarters and an experienced team (President and Board of Directors) capable of ensuring ongoing mentoring and a safe environment. Volunteers will be supported by a local integration mentor and a tutor for learning the activities, which will be certified through Youthpass.
