"KIDS & Peace" - 10 months long EVS for Italian candidates only

“KIDS and Peace” is a project that will last for 10 months (September 2017 - June/July) and take place within 7 kindergartens (1 volunteer in 1 kindergarten). Each volunteer will work alongside the staff of the establishment and sometimes even alongside the other volunteers. The volunteers will work with groups of around 25 children, aged between 3 - 6 years old. On average, the volunteers will spend around 30–35 hours per week, implementing project activities (supporting everyday activities in the kindergarten, preparing workshops, helping kindergarten’s staff with the events). What is more, the chosen volunteers will go through peace education workshops (once in a month), so we hope, that they will be able to implement afterwards what they learned in their work with children and in their everyday life in the project.

The volunteer will live in a flat (student conditions) shared with flatmates. The flat is furnished with a fridge, washing machine, an iron and basic kitchen utensils. Common kitchen and bathroom. Smoking is not allowed in the flat. The volunteer will share the room with maximum one person of the same gender.

This project is for you if: 1. You are aged between 18–30 2. Have a positive and pro-active attitude and positive and pro-active attitude and approach (also towards difficulties) 3. Are interested in WORKING WITH CHILDREN AGED 3–6, as well as intercultural dialogue, equality & diversity and citizenship issue 4. Are willing to learn to: explore the idea of peace, address violence and conflict in their daily life, be able to apply peace education to own activities to be able to ‘live peace’.
