Volunteering and culture - work in a culture centre

International Exchange and Voluntary Service Centre FIYE Poland runs activities for the local community, mainly youth, from Pultusk, a small town 60 km from Warsaw. In each EVS project we try to connect international voluntary service with a new area – this year it is time for culture. EVS volunteer participating in the project will be working in 3 areas: supporting municipal culture centre (2-3 days per week; helping to organise classes and events, organising own creative activities, running a blog about cultural events in Pułtusk), work with youth (1 day per week; organising events and workshops, visits to schools) and work in our office (1-2 days per week; promotion of voluntary service, organising events, documentation). The work demands creativity, initiative, some coordinating skills and a lot of communication and cooperation with people.

Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas

Accommodation: Shared rooms (2 people in one, spacious room) in a 3-room-flat (2 sleeping rooms and 1 common room). The flat has a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with a washing machine. The building is located in the main street which makes the place a bit loud. Food: The volunteer will be receiving about 95 EUR per month which is sufficient in a small town like Pultusk. We expect that the volunteer will be mostly cooking for themselves. Local transportation: The nursery school is located in a walking distance from volunteers’ flat. International transport: reimbursement up to 275 EUR.

Mokymas vykdant projektą

Language training: Online Language Support Task-related training: - introduction to EVS programme and work, - on-going support in office work (usage of office devices, office software, social media, documentation) and work with different age groups (active methods, animation of local community), - campleaders training (if the volunteer decides to run a workcamp in the summer 2018).

Kokių savanorių ieškoma?

Who do we need? - a person who likes contact with people and communication with them, - a person who enjoys group activities and has some leadership skills, - a person with good communication skills, - a person with initiative and own ideas for activities, - a person who does not mind some office work. Artistic hobbies and skills such as playing music, doing handicraft will be very helpful.
