The hosting organisation Città Solidale is selecting one French volunteer to join a 12 months project in Vicenza, Italy. The service includes the following activities: SERVICE IN THE EDUCATIVE COMMUNITY (usually shift 15-21) Benjamin will be involved by professional staff in the planning process of activities, especially in the development of the personal projects of guests as well as in the management of their daily leisure time. SERVICE IN THE SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY (usually shift 9-15) This service is run in two more hosting structures. The purpose remains the same: providing disables with a richer life and assisting them in their daily routines. Of course, being these guests less self-sufficient, they spend much of their time within the community itself. This is why volunteers’ tasks will be much more focused on the community life (shopping, cooking, cleaning, watching movies, making manual labours together, etc.) and in finding the way to make guests enjoy the time together.

ACCOMMODATION The volunteer will be hosted in an independent apartments placed in Vicenza city and well served by public transports. It will be shared with other 2 volunteers, one from Spain and one from Bosnia Herzegovina. TRANSPORTS International travel is covered by EU funds up to 275€ two ways Volunteers will receive a bike to be used both for service and for personal transfers, as well as bus tickets to reach the activity seat. FOOD Volunteers will receive a monthly allowance of 140€ to be used for the personal shopping, in addition to the EU pocket money of 115€

IttraduċiProfil tal-voluntier
Motivation to spend 1 year in a foreign country working with disadvantaged target groups. We'll prefer volunteers with high motivation to discover the social work run by the hosting organisations, with the mind open to take care about the tasks the social work implies (spend time with the beneficiaries, do practical activities with them, etc.) and with the will to adapt to the new environment. Previous experience (also of volunteering) in the social topics addressed by the project is welcome. Basics of Italian or at least of English are needed.
