Citizens’ Engagement Platform on Tackling Hatred in Society

Posledná aktualizácia pondelok, 17/02/2025

Do you want to have a say on EU policies? The new Citizens’ Engagement Platform provides a forum for you to give feedback and exchange ideas with citizens from across Europe!

During the Conference on the Future of Europe, citizens called for an online forum to express their views on different issues of European interest. The Citizens’ Engagement Platform is the result of this call – it is your online space to exchange with other Europeans. The Platform aims to empower citizens, especially young people, to make their voices heard in a collaborative, dynamic, and digital way. What’s more, translation technology will enable citizens to read and engage in their own language!

The Platform launched its first debate on the topic of energy efficiency, and citizens’ online contributions have already fed into onsite deliberations of the European Citizens’ Panel on Energy Efficiency. The Panel’s 13 recommendations, together with the contributions on the online platform, will inform the upcoming EU Recommendation on the “Energy Efficiency First” principle.

The European Citizens’ Panel on Tackling Hatred in Society kicked off back in April 2024. Citizens representing all EU member states contributed their ideas on the Platform to draw attention to the increase in hate speech and crimes, and potential actions that could be taken to combat these issues. The Panel’s 21 recommendations will serve as a guide to help the EU move from hatred and division to the shared enjoyment of European values, while upholding principles of respect for human rights and dignity.

Be sure to share the Platform with your broader network, to ensure that the diversity of European voices is represented and heard.

Take a seat at the table and join the debate!
