From 29 March until 1 April 2022, film lovers can join the simultaneous screenings and the Q&A sessions with film crews across Europe.
Every year, the Lux Audience Award sheds light on three films that go to the heart of the European public debate. This year’s shortlisted films are:
- Flee, by Jonas Poher Rasmussen, portrays Amin Nawabi, a 36-year-old high-achieving academic, who grapples w/ a painful secret he has kept for 20 years.
- Great Freedom, by Sebastian Meise, portrays Hans, who in post-war Germany, is imprisoned for being gay and finds love in his cellmate, a convicted murderer.
- Quo Vadis, Aida?, by Jasmila Žbanić, portrays Aida, a Bosnian UN interpreter who learns that a terrible fate awaits her family, but can she do anything to stop it?
What is the plan? Join the free screenings, meet and discuss with the film crew and join the biggest film jury in Europe by voting your favourite film among the three nominees.
Where will there be screenings? In Brussels and many cities across Europe, check the list.
Who can join? Anyone! The screening are free and available on a first come, first served basis, the Q&A session will be streamed in the cinemas and on Lux Audience Award Facebook page.
Given the unprovoked attack of Ukraine by Russia and condemned by the EU, we call upon Europeans to stand together, show solidarity and participate in the debates on European values.
