Outright no. Being an Arts student, this question has plagued me throughout my studies, in particular this last year as I am bound to finish my Masters degree. However, even though the market does not willingly create a spot for us, especially in a country with limited understanding of and favour for the Arts and Humanities, I am still convinced that I have made the right choice. I would not have achieved the critical abilities I have got now had I not taken this path - and for this, I can be a well-informed, decision-making citizen in today's rough political scene. Finally, if Europe wants to build a new narrative, is it not the artists and philosophers that can and will primarily contribute to this?

No, no, no and no. You must do what excites you, what motivates you to do your best. That does not detract from the fact that some "less-famous" professions should be promoted to publicize the variety of possibilities on the market. But if one chooses to study something that is not what really passionate but because "it is the best choice to study because then you will find a job", eventually he may end up doing it reluctantly and so the world will eventually be filled with unmotivated people and with little initiative.

Yes and no. It would be nice to work in the field you're trained in, but I think people go and study something even knowing they won't find relevant work, but dream that one day they will have the opportunity or they just do it because they like and subject, but found a job that's in demand right now. I could very well study the history of art and work in a travel agency..at least I studied something I loved.

The age limit should be raised for volunteers/workers in erasmus/eu volunteer projects to at least 35, long term unemployed adults could benefit greatly by this.
