Apraksts

The National Gallery of Armenia (NGA) was founded in 1921, is the country’s major art gallery. NGA has about 40 000 pieces of art. The program is aimed at discovering its collection as well as the masterpieces by the renowned artists exhibited in the leading world museums. The volunteers are given an opportunity to get an aesthetic education in specific museum atmosphere and to spend eventful time. Thematic- interactive, educational programs are organized for children including film and cartoon viewing, workshops. The volunteer will assist the excursion department. The work will be entertaining and educational. The volunteer will discover painters, treasures, learn the history of the art and the science of museology in general. The volunteer will be given a task to moderate social media pages. The project is organised by the support of HUJ-Voluntary Service of Armenia. The duration of the project is 8-12 months.

Dzīvošana, ēdināšana un transports

The volunteers will be provided with convenient accommodation: the dormitory of a university in Yerevan, near the city center, featuring same-gendered rooms with two occupants each, shared bathroom, and a spacious kitchen. This cozy dormitory is equipped with all necessities and ensures safety. Approximately 18 long-term ESC volunteers from different European countries reside in the dormitory. On the first of each month, volunteers receive a monthly allowance, sent by HUJ to their bank cards, covering their pocket money, food, transportation, and internet expenses.

Mācības pasākuma laikā

Upon the volunteer's arrival at the airport, they will receive a warm welcome by their mentor. Following this, an introductory meeting will be held at the HUJ office, where the organizational staff will formally greet the volunteers and assist in essential procedures for their stay in Yerevan (obtaining an Armenian phone number, a physical bank card, and arranging a meeting with their assigned mentor). During their mobility in Yerevan, volunteers will engage in two training sessions - an on-arrival and a mid-term training - organized by SALTO in Georgia.
