Volunteering in a rural community doing things like: Natural building, scouting, nature, sport, gardening, hosting, organizing, handicraft, theatre, repair/maintenance, DIY, simple living, sharing household e t c. Do-it-yourself kind of work with shelter, tools, sewage, compost, soil, water e t c. This activity includes larping... you must be ready to take part. It will be very social and very intense. You will meet over 100 persons. Living on the country side, no cities. More simple lifestyle. Very social, since it is a community. Sharing household. Regelingen voor accommodatie, eten, en vervoer
This are EU funded projects where accommodation, food and transport is paid for (up to a limit) You will be living in a community with shared household. It is usually an intentional community and rules apply when it comes to lifestyle (that you have to follow). Food is often vegetarian. Since it is a community you will be spending lots of your free time at the host place. Limited showers and laundry. Limited wifi. Only dry toilets. Simple accommodation.
Wat leer je?
This is not a school. There will be in-formal learning, if you pay attention. It is your responsibility to learn. There will be non-formal educational situations on the topics of the project, like: scout skills, gardening, natural building, forestry, handicraft, repair/maintenance, DIY, simple living, sharing household, social skills e t c Work can be slowed down and more supervision available and some "trial and error" and workshop approach. Theatre training. Sport training.
Wie zoeken we?
You need some of these: - Prior experience of practical handy-man work. - Be able to live simple with less comfort. - Initiative and work ethics (activities is obligatory) - Background of economic problems, or social problems, or school problems, emotional problems e t c - These are also good: - Be able to communicate in English. - Planning a future life on the countryside. - Ready to be sportive Share the vision. Be interest in doing the work described.
