Description
7 - 12 months voluntary project vacancy for 3 volunteers starting June 2026. Volunteering project will consist of your own event ideas, non - formal education lessons with local kids and youngsters in Ventspils and Ventspils district schools. Everyday work will be in local Youth house - open space for youngsters from 13-30 years old to play board games, read books, hang out after school and participate in non formal education and activities. You will have a possibility to create and organize your own activities and events. You will have a creative environment to work in and you will get a chance to get to know Latvia and our culture!
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Volunteers will be assured with pocket money 5 Euros per day and money for food. Accommodations: volunteers flat is on 3rd floor of 5 floor building. The flat is shared with other EVS volunteers that are working in NGO. Rooms: 3 room flat with isolated rooms, toilet and shover room. There is furniture in every room: a wardrobe, a bookshelf, chairs, a table and of f course a bed and everything for sleeping - pillows and blankets. Mobility: flat is located in 15 min public transport (costs are covered) driving distance from place of work, or 45 min walk.
Training during the activity
Taking part in project each volunteer is introduced with daily life in NGO and Youth house, have training about non-formal education and do teambuilding games with the team. Volunteers will have opportunity to take part in on-arrival and mid-term training, who are organized by Latvian National agency - Jaunatnes starptautisko programmu aģentūra.
Participant profile
Volunteer should be age 18 - 30, from EU country. Good or medium English knowledge, communicable and willing to work with people different ages. Motivated to learn new skills and be open for new learning process, preferable basic knowledge in - making events, creating posters, writing short stories and posts, taking pictures and image processing.
