Österreichische Kinderfreunde is one of the biggest family organizations in Austria dealing with leisure time projects for children and educational work on familiy tasks for parents and adults. The main part of our work include school daycare, youth centres, mobile childcare on playgrounds and parks, camps, daytime-activities during the school holidays and streetwork.As a volunteer with us you will be working at our different locations in and outside of the city. You will be working at our youth centres, our school daycare, our mobile childcare projekt „KECK“ and during the summer you will be helping with our different daytime-activities for children. Most of the work will be done in the afternoon and in the evening, which will include weekends when working at the youth centre. Regular activities will include helping the different teams with their tasks, playing games with the kids and teenagers, helping the team create different activities/projects create some activities on your own.

A local standard accommodation is provided. Monthly food money from the host organization. Local transport is provided.

Dalībnieka profils
Because of the nature of our work, the volunteers are preferred to have a solid character, be able to handle stressful situations with teenagers or children, and be a realiable team worker. It is also very good if you already have experience working with those age groups. Since most of the work will include talking to people from different age groups, it is essential that you bring the motivation to learn german, if you don’t already speak some. Being able to drive is also a big advantage, since getting to some of the locations can take more time by bus than by using our company cars.
