Project "Learning by to doing - Diaconal Year in Poland " involves volunteers from different countries into structures of social/charity/educational institution. One of them is The"we are for you" Foundation in Katowice. The key objective of the Foundation is to improve the people's living conditions and future prospects. Daily they take care of children at the age 6-15, comming from Katowice City and also semiors and other groups. They provide them with meals, support childeren in doing their homework and invite them to sports/ music/artistic events. But, first of all, they offer them attention and care, foster interpersonal bonds and accompany them in the process of growing up. The volunteer will assist the proffessional educators in their daily work. Will prepare a spare time activities for the group: arts&crafts, sports, games, workshops, presentation of own country; according to the the individual skills the volunteer might propose own project.
Szállás, étkezés és utazás
The volunteer will have a room in the shared flat. The volunteers will work from Monday till Friday, max 38 hours per week. Weekends are free. There are 18 days of vacations during the activity – 2 per worked month. Christmas and national holidays are free. The volunteer will cook for himself/herself. The volunteer will have access to the public transport.
Képzés a tevékenység során
Our volunteers will participate in two ESC semianars. They will also attend 3 seminars organised by the coordinating organisation. The essential part of this seminars is the projects evaluation, intercultural education, regional education and support of the volunteers in their "project lifes".
Résztvevői profil
We would like to host volunteers who like spending time with children, that is the one of the most important things. Volunteers also should: have strong sense of responsibility, have creative abilities, be curious and open to new ideas, culture and language.The previous experience in working with children is welcomed but not necessary. Musical skills, art skills and interests in sports would be an advantage. As our profile is sport and health we prefer the volunteer who promotes a healthy life style. For a good communication in the project basic Polish and English skills are welcome.
