The Museum "Le Patiau" is divided in 3 different areas : 1-decoration area on pottery workshop 2-museum about the pottery history of the town. 3-shop gallery with temporary exhibitions of contemporary pottery. To encourage the dynamics and attractiveness of the museum, activities about ceramics are organized for children and adults: classes, workshops, guided tours on pottery history, conferences, ... Missions of the volunteer : - Participating in all activities of the museum with employees, local volunteers, visitors - Contributing in promoting the Museum activities, events, workshops (press, social media…) - Contributing in establishing an effective communication about valuing ceramic craftsmen in Brittany (repertory in particular) - Contributing in developing and feeding new actions at the museum linked with the population, local partners and the existing activities - Welcoming and informing visitors - Participating in pedagogical and recreational workshops
Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz
The volunteer will share a furnished flat with the other European volunteers hosted in Redon, or with French people. The volunteer is accommodated in his/her own single bedroom, and the flat mates have to share the living, kitchen and bathroom. The flat is 15 mn ride by car from the museum, and 5 from the town center. The city of the museum will lend a car to the volunteer to go to work and be back home at Redon. The volunteer can also use a bicycle to move in the town. The volunteer will get a monthly allowance for food in addition to pocket money.
Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti
The volunteer will get the support from the team of the museum, and from his/her mentor, who will take time to listen to him/her, answer his/her questions and guide him/her in his/her activities. On another hand, the volunteer will have the support of the EVS coordinator in Mapar (the coordinating organization), who will support him during all his stay. The volunteer will also follow French classes during all the length of the project.
Profil sudionika
The volunteer should be available at the dates of the project. The volunteer should be from EU nationality. The town of Redon and the region of Brittany has an important local heritage. The museum is concerned about the past of potters and ceramists. The candidate should be interested by the transmission of information about this to the public, especially to a young public. Knowledge in French to exchange with adults+children will be highly appreciated. Interest in proposing creative activities, working with children and communicating. Driving licence is highly recommended as the town for volunteering is located at 7 km far from Redon and the house. The museum provides a car for the volunteer for transportation from the house to the mission place + the travels (15 km around) related to the mission
