Opis
As a volunteer at Harmony Home, a residential facility for seniors with complex care needs, you will become part of a team that provides both health and social care, with a strong focus on social activation and meaningful everyday life for older people. Your main role will be to spend time with residents and support leisure and activation activities. This may include playing musical instruments, reading together, talking and reminiscing, browsing books, playing various games, or simply being present and offering companionship. You will also assist with group and outdoor activities, such as walks, excursions, and larger social or cultural events. In cooperation with the staff, you may help with the organisation of major events and support the pleasant atmosphere of the facility by assisting with the maintenance of indoor and outdoor spaces, including gardens and common areas.
Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz
Volunteers receive a daily stipend of 7 EUR. In addition, a 9 EUR per day food allowance is provided. The project also covers the costs of Czech language lessons, local transportation, and all other expenses directly related to the volunteering activity. We provide accommodation in a private apartment located about a 10-minute walk from the city centre. The apartment has a shared living room with a kitchen, a bathroom, and a separate toilet. There are two bedrooms, each shared by two volunteers, so you will share a room with one other international volunteer.
Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti
The main traing will be directly during the stay in Harmonie retirement house. The volunteerr will improve his social skills (formal and non-formal). Of course, he will also go to the on-arrival and mid-term trainings. Also, if he is interested, he can visit trainings and courses ofred to other empoyees.
