As a volunteer in Ylivieska youth services volunteer will primarily work in the youth center “Holvi” where are our offices and almost all our activities happen. In the youth center, volunteers work in all kinds of activities with the workers. Depending on the day, children and teenagers between 8 and 18 years old will come to the youth center after school or later in the evening. For younger children is always at least one prepared program like a game, baking, cooking etc. The program is always prepared in advance and of course, you can contribute with your ideas. With older youngsters program is more flexible.There is also billiard, video games, air hockey, ping-pong, kicker, board games, etc. which the children and teenagers can play by themselves or together with you. Sometimes volunteers visit schools and arrange activities for youngsters and children at breaks. Work is mainly at the evenings, sometimes also at weekends. Start and end dates are a little flexible if needed.
Apgyvendinimas, maitinimas ir transportas
Own little studio flat with balcony and bathroom. Local transportation bike, we don't have local busses here, all is inside few kilometres so it's easy to go anywhere by bike. Food money will be paid with pocket money. Apartment is located next to railway and bus station, youth house is around 500 meters away from apartment. Our two volunteers live in same block of flats but they have own apartments. At the house there is sauna and laundry room.
Mokymas veiklos laikotarpiu
On arrival training, midterm training organised by Finnish National Agency. Volunteer will have supervisor at work and own mentor outside of work. Our mentor is also Finnish teacher, so our volunteers will have some private Finnish lessons. Volunteer can have meeting with mentor when needed. Every month is mentoring lunch with mentor, also once in a month volunteers and mentor will have some activity together.
Dalyvio profilis
Young person who is interested in to work with children and youngsters. Work at the youth house, at schools, at children traffic park and at camps. We are looking for social, outgoing and positive person to work with children. At our services will work 2 volunteers at the same time.
