Be part of Avnø Oasis, a multicultural eco-village in the making, containing a residential adult learning center (Avnø Højskole), a co-housing and some sprouts for green businesses. You will develop skills related to social interactions, personal development, health and wellness and empowerment in an English language environment. Explore living sustainably in community with other volunteers, teachers and students while being a part of our technical team, that creates and maintains physical structures and IT. We have 6000 square meter building and a complex IT system that needs care and attention. A mix of regular chores, repairs and new projects. We make sure there’s always heat, water and that everything just works and build new to add structures or functionality to our spaces. Smještaj, hrana i prijevoz
As a volunteer you receive free room and 3 daily meals as well as access to all our facilities in your free time: most of the courses at Avnø Højskole, gymnasium, fitness center, yoga room, craft rooms etc. Your room is equipped with a private bathroom and there is a kitchenette in the hallway. Together with residents, teachers and students you will be part of a dynamic and ever-changing community. You may be a member of our car share association and have access to a car. Otherwise, car service is available to the local train station. Train to Copenhagen takes 70 min and departs every hour.
Osposobljavanje tijekom aktivnosti
A buddy will welcome you into the community, a mentor will support you generally and a working group supervisor will support you in regard to the work. Besides doing daily tasks, you will have the opportunity to work independently by taking responsibility for a smaller or larger area in the team. In your free time you are invited to join sessions/courses focused on health, green lifestyle, community building & personal/spiritual development offered by Avnø Højskole (Residential Learning center for adults). You will participate in on-arrival and midterm training with other ESC volunteers.

You are looking for a new way of living - the world is changing, and you realize that the present way is not sustainable. You want to take part in the change that needs to happen by engaging actively in a dynamic and changing community, and you are interested in health, community, green lifestyle, personal and spiritual development. Furthermore, you want to develop your ability to work independently in a team, and you are eager to use your skills and talents to support this project and a new way of living to get off the ground, and you are eager to use your skills and talents within the field of maintenance of buildings and/or IT and have an authentic interest in maintaining our facilities. Other opportunities, we offer is Green Chef trainee, Promotion Team Assistant and Maintenance Team Assistant, as well as extending your stay up to 12 months.
