The intercultural day care centre "Kita Monelli " is located close to the city centre of Karlsruhe. The structure offers a full-day childcare for 40 children from the age of 3 to 6.The main focus of the day care centre is the concept and the intercultural education. A various program for the children is offered: playing together, working with art and colours, doing sports, experiments and discovering natural sciences, playing theatre or doing handicrafts.The main goal is that the interests of the children are being supported by the educators and the volunteers. Lunch and snack are provided for the childran and also for the volunteers. Your tasks will be mainly supporting the educators, helping tidying up after eating and integrating in a multilingual professional environment. You will be accommodated in a big house with other 6 international ESC volunteers. You will share with them kitchen, a yard, 2 bathrooms and a living room, and you will experience a beautiful community life. You will have your room, plus the house has a little guest room. The accomodation costs are covered by the project. You will receive approx. 150 € pocket money and approx. 270 € for food every month. Oiliúint le linn na gníomhaíochta

You will take part to two seminars of 5 and 7 days each: these consist in trainings organized by the National Agency, and allow you to meet other ESC volunteers in Germany, share your experiences, learn and talk about the main concepts of the European Solidarity Corps. The meetings take place in different cities in Germany. You also have the possibility to attend a course to become a youth leader, a German language training of 6 weeks, a first aid, climbing and a life guard courses. all of these offers allow you to work with kids and youngsters during your voluntary service and in the future.

• At least 18 years old • Interest in pedagogique work • Interest in working with children especially in the age from 3 to 6 • Good knowledge of English (understanding, speaking, writing, reading), basic skills in German would be helpful but aren’t mandatory • having an accredited sending organization (PIC number, accreditation number, name and contacts) • Open to get to know Germany and German culture and interested to live in another country for a year.
