Our workshops for individuals with cognitive impairments offer a diverse range of activities, from assembly and packaging to metalworking, gardening, and landscaping. We also provide activities in the workplace for personal development, including adult education, sports, creative, and musical offerings. Dedicated professionals support employees in their daily work and professional growth, fostering job and career advancement. In the Mosbach workshops, volunteers play a crucial role in various working groups, and actively assist with daily tasks (eg. activities, mealtimes, bus transfers, administration, as well as directly within the workshop's work areas. You can bring your own skills and interests to the job. You will not only be a part of the daily operations but also contribute to the personal and professional development of our participants. Your commitment will create a positive impact in our workshops, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
A fully furnished apartment is provided locally and fully paid by Johannes Diakonie Mosbach. Full board (288€) and the volunteer allowance (180€) is paid monthly direct to your German bank account. A ticket for local and national transport (Deutschlandticket) is also paid by Johannes Diakonie. Mosbach (https://mosbach.de/startseite) is a small town on the edge of the Odenwald region and close to Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Heidelberg for travelling through Germany and Europe. The town has many old buildings and often holds events in the summer months, as well as lots of outdoor activities
Formazione durante l'attività
Arrival and mid-term training through the National Agency. On-the-job training at the location. Events arranged for all volunteers by Johannes Diakonie, including regular online meetings with the coordinator. Free German language courses provided during the year. Youthpass at the end of the volunteer period.
Profilo del partecipante
Experience of working with or helping people with special needs // Empathy, team-player, sense of responsibility // Reliable and punctual // Creativity and openness // Sharing activities and skills (eg. music, crafts, relaxation, walks) with patients //Teaching skills. Ideally A2-B1 German and/or English language skills and be willing to learn German quickly // A heart for connecting with people with disabilities and be passionate about enriching their lives and improving their health. Preference given to candidates who send a relevant motivation statement for the opportunity.
