The project aims to promote social inclusion values in a community context in the rural area of Italian Alps in Piedmont. The project is 2 weeks of volunteering in Agape Centro Ecumenico. It's a community center that organizes different programs in order to promote inclusive, intercultural, participating, democratic, and solidal societies. The volunteer will support the resident group. He/She/They will help in the working sector in which the work is divided: kitchen, cleaning, bar, servizio (setting tables, washing dishes), maintenance. The volunteer will also be involved in non-formal education moments on several topics. The program also foresee leisure activities such as team games, hiking or creative workshops. The volunteer will in general join the community life of the Center, being an active part of it, having the chance to bring personal contributions with proposals.
Alloggio, vitto e trasporto
The volunteer will have a shared room, with a shared bathroom. He/She/They will be provided 3 meals a day, wi-fi connection, bed sheets. The laundry is available with washing products for clothes. Travel arrangements will be agreed with Agape Ecumenical Center. Insurance and Pocket Money are provided. The main cities in the surrounding area are Pinerolo and Torino, that can be reached by public transportations.
Formazione durante l'attività
The project will offer some training moments in order to prepare and support the participating volunteers. The organization will propose a welcoming session and a final evaluation moment in group, and the possibility to get individual support during the project activities. Volunteers will also be informed about on-line tools offered by the European Agency tailored for international volunteers. The volunteers will received task related support in order to perform the volunteering tasks during the project. The volunteer will always work with the reference person of the assigned sector.
Profilo del partecipante
Participants need to be available for two weeks, not less. Interested youngsters will be selected according to their motivation, their will to get involved in the project activities and bring a personal and active contribution to the placement. They will need to be ready to challenge themselves, to live and cooperate with other people. They don't need to have any previous experience or specific skills, but to be ready to learn and push themselves in new experiences out of the comfort zone.
